Don't worry. You have always written before and you will write now.
Ernest Hemingway
Sarah L. Hawes-Hernandez began her first manuscript at age nine, finishing it at 14. While raising her children and working in a series of unrelated jobs, she never abandoned her desire to become an author. Nothing felt as comfortable as creating characters and storylines. In 2012, she came across one of her old, half-written manuscripts that inspired her to enroll in the well-regarded Creative Writing Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Immersing herself in the program, Sarah polished her skills and developed a passion for the craft of writing. Upon graduation with a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree in 2015, she embraced her dream of becoming a full-time writer and has never looked back.
Sarah is now working on the final revisions of her expansive historical fiction novel. Set in war-torn Austria during World War II, Winter on the Rose, the first in a trilogy, is scheduled for completion by December 2026.
